The International Business Times reports how the company is at the center of a lawsuit ( not for the first time , mind you) that it sent people unsolicited commercial texts as part of its marketing strategy.

Top Class Actions adds that Cash App was accused by a class action lawsuit filed in Washington federal court in July of incentivizing users to send pre-filled text messages to their contacts without obtaining the recipients’ consent. An example of one such message was “Hey! I’ve been using Cash App to send money and spend using the Cash Card. Try it using my code and you’ll get $5.”
