MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed and three other people were hurt in a head-on crash early Saturday in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. on County Road 42, west of SE 160th Avenue Road, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, a pickup truck traveling east on C.R. 42 crossed the center line and struck a westbound sedan head-on.

The 40-year-old Belleview man driving the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger — who had not been positively identified at the time of this writing — suffered critical injuries and was hospitalized, the report states.
