India’s newly appointed ODI captain Shubman Gill on Thursday confirmed that senior pros Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli remain central to the team’s plans for the 2027 World Cup, saying their unmatched skill and experience are “too valuable to overlook.”

Gill, who takes over the reins from Rohit after a successful four-year stint, said he hopes to build the same sense of camaraderie within the team that defined Rohit’s leadership. Already leading the Test side, the 26-year-old exuded confidence about the road ahead.
