SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame football has produced plenty of standout players — many of whom have gone on to make their mark in the NFL.
One of those names grew up not far from South Bend.
“There’s no place like home. That’s what I think of,” says former Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith. “Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana about an hour and a half south of here drive, so it’s a easy commute. But getting a chance to be around the guys and being around the community and seeing the change and what’s evolved since I left campus, all of these different things are exciting. Just happy to be a part of the Notre Dame legacy.”
