After Snake Bite, Jake Latimer Was Pulled From 'Survivor' In Time To See Birth of His Son

"Survivor" contestant Jake Latimer is sharing behind-the-scenes details about the snake bite he received that caused a medical emergency on the Oct. 8 episode of the reality series

In one of the most terrifying moments in the show’s history, Latimer was bitten by a venomous banded sea krait snake while sitting at the beach close to his tribe camp.

"I opened my eyes, and the snake is latched onto the bottom of my foot, mouth wide open," Latimer told Entertainment Weekly. "But it didn’t hurt at the time. I just felt a tingling kind of sensation. And that’s when I yelled to Alex. I’m like, 'Guys, I think this thing just bit me!'"

Latimer recalled that "cameras hauled it up the beach" to film the scene as it grew increasingly “chaotic.”
