ALLEN PARK -- Par for the course, the NFL released its list of fines from the previous week on Saturday afternoon, and appearing on it for the Detroit Lions is one of their key red zone contributors.
The league fined Lions tight end Brock Wright $11,883 for unnecessary roughness, classifying it under striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing during the team’s 37-24 Week 5 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. No other Lions were fined this week.
With 14:04 remaining in regulation, the Lions faced 2nd-and-9 from their own 28-yard line. As quarterback Jared Goff dropped back, Wright stepped up in pass protection but was unable to hold off Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who got home for the sack.
