5 different players strike to send Green Wave past Wolves in Section 8A semifinals

EAST GRAND FORKS — The last two Section 8A girls soccer tournaments have ended with a matchup between East Grand Forks Senior High and St. Cloud Cathedral in the championship game.

On Saturday afternoon, the Green Wave made the trilogy official.

East Grand Forks cruised past Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in a windy Section 8A semifinal to a 5-1 win, setting up a rematch with St. Cloud Cathedral in the section title game on Tuesday.

The Green Wave found goals from five different players in the victory, scoring three with the wind in the first half and two against it in the second.
