LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The 7th annual “Race for a Healthier Tomorrow” took off in front of the state capitol on Saturday morning.

There was also a family walk, booths and activities all to benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

The hospital is currently undergoing an eight-year, $318 million expansion.

"The expansion is phenomenal, you can't help but to drive by the hospital and see the changes we're making, and one thing we have to remember, this expansion is not just for the kids in Arkansas,” Race for a Healthier Tomorrow co-chair Stacey Dvorak said. “We see families from all over the United States. This day is for more than just us."

Mario Kart was the theme for this year’s race.

The 5K was USA Track and Field certified.
