BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- The LSU Tigers held on to defeat South Carolina, 20-10, on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium after taking the lead for good midway through the third quarter on a Trey'Dez Green touchdown catch.
It was only Green's third reception of the season, his second touchdown grab of the year.
Garrett Nussmeier looked healthier while delivering the ball to his receivers after a torso injury was made public three weeks earlier. Head coach Brian Kelly told the media the bye week allowed Nussmeier to rest the injury.
It was tough sledding for the offense in the first half, only averaging 3.8 yards per rush. But in the second half, the ground game was helped by long runs from Caden Durham and Ju'Juan Johnson.
