ROCHESTER, Minn.-The City of Rochester says it is ahead of schedule on a North Broadway road improvement project, it expects to be finished with in a little over a month.

Businesses along North Broadway between 16th Street Northwest and 13th and 1/2 Street Northwest are excited by the progress.

Phil Hommerding, owner of Hunt Drug at the Silver Lake Shopping Center, says many regulars were turned off of visiting his store during the height of construction in the spring.

"Traffic is flowing better and you know it's still limited a little bit, but we definitely have better access than what we had a couple weeks ago," Hommerding said.

He says as detours have been removed and traffic lights have come back online he has seen more customers return to his business.
