Senapati, October 11 2025: The family and relatives of Late H Luikang Jonah have installed a temporary roadside railing at the accident site along the National Highway as a safety measure to raise awareness among drivers and prevent similar incidents in the future.

H Luikang Jonah was the son of Hingba Thomas of New Maram.

On October 6, a tragic accident occurred around 1:30 am when an Eeco van plunged from the highway into die Barak River between Karong and Mount Zion Higher Secondary School claiming the life of their beloved son H Luikang Jonah.

The family and relatives have also earnestly appealed to the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to construct proper roadside protection structures along this stretch of the highway as a permanent safety measure for all commuters.
