Deputies have arrested a man after they say a Rowan County Crime Stoppers tip led to a search warrant that revealed drugs in his home.

The investigation into a home in the 1100 block of Phillip Street began on Sept. 23, when a Crime Stoppers tip came in about potential narcotics distribution occurring there, according to a release from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators from the vice/narcotics unit reportedly conducted a “knock and talk,” where officers knock on the front door, speak with an occupant and ask for permission to search the building. During that contact, investigators developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant, according to the release. A search of the home resulted in the seizure of over five pounds of marijuana, approximately 30 gram
