In a sharp escalation of border hostilities, Taliban-led Afghan forces launched a series of retaliatory strikes late Saturday, capturing multiple Pakistani Army outposts along the Durand Line.

The offensive, concentrated in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces, reportedly followed a Pakistani airstrike near Kabul earlier this week.

According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence, the Taliban seized strategic positions and destroyed Pakistani military infrastructure, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 Pakistani soldiers.

The clashes also spread to Aryub Zazi in Paktia province and surrounding districts.
