COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – New information has emerged about the recovery of Coeur d’Alene Fire Engineer Dave Tysdal, who was injured in the Canfield Mountain ambush shooting earlier this year.
The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department reported that Tysdal will soon be leaving the hospital. He plans to eventually move into an apartment in Colorado with his wife and children.
Tysdal is transitioning to outpatient care and continuing rehabilitation. There is hope that he will regain movement in his legs.
Meanwhile, in Idaho, crews are working to make the family’s home wheelchair-accessible in preparation for his return.
