Diane Keaton , Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn delighted audiences as Annie, Brenda and Elise — the prodigiously talented trio in the hit movie “ The First Wives Club .”
Their rousing rendition of Lesley Gore ’s “ You Don’t Own Me ” went down in movie history as an all-time great scene from the 1996 film (see clip below).
After Keaton, 79, died Saturday, Hawn and Midler remembered their friend and co-star with praise for her work, artistry and spirit.
