SALT LAKE CITY — Utah football quarterback Devon Dampier maneuvered through the Sun Devils’ defense in the third quarter before running in his third touchdown of the game.
The score put Utah up 35-10, and they would take that lead into the fourth quarter.
Heading into the week seven game, Dampier had just two rushing touchdowns on the season.
The performance marked his first game with multiple touchdowns as a Ute, and his fifth career game with three rushing scores. Also of note, it was his second against a Power Four opponent.
As the fourth quarter started, Dampier connected on just seven of 12 pass attempts. The low volume wasn’t because the passing game wasn’t working; it was because there was no reason to go away from the ground game.
