Crews responded to a fire at the Eastwood Event Center at approximately 10 o' clock Saturday after fire officials say an air conditioning unit overheated.
Niles Fire Department told 21 News that when the unit overheated the belt burned up, causing smoke to fill the building. Everyone was safely evacuated from the event center and the fire was contained quickly. 21 News crews on the scene noted the fire was put out once they arrived.
Hubbard High School was holding its homecoming dance at the event center this evening.
Niles Police told 21 News that nobody was injured.
