The current council president is not running for reelection. Democrat Louis Giavasis and Republican Roy Scott DePew are on the ballot.

Four candidates, two former Democratic councilman, an incumbent Democrat and a Republican challenger, are competing for three at-large council seats.

There are contested races in four of Canton's nine Wards.

CANTON − Canton voters will elect a new council president on Nov. 4 and decide contested races for three at-large council seats and four Ward council seats.

Council president and council members serve two-year terms. Candidates elected Nov. 4 will serve through the end of 2027.
