Recent letters questioned the logic of building a 22,500-seat stadium, and the length of time to finish construction. The reason is simple: The developers for the entertainment district, and this includes all businesses that will benefit, are running the show, and our politicians are being financially rewarded. Not by direct payment; they’re too smart for that.

There are mechanisms and workarounds that operate almost like money laundering, but are by definition not, and funds can be routed to any business that has as an employee who is also a legislator.

Money talks. Just like the rail project and Kakaako’s redevelopment.

Don’t get me wrong — we do have good legislators who serve the people. It’s just a few bad apples who are in control.
