After serving patrons for 17 years, the Z-One restaurant in Bulls Head closed at the end of June.

Owner Steve Osman told the Advance/SILive.com at the time that skyrocketing rent was the primary reason for the beloved eatery’s closure.

The final meal Z-One was served on Sunday, June 29 after the kitchen closed at 9:45 p.m.

“We had this place coming on 20 years. It was a great place and still is. But with our rent increasing to over $50,000 a month and a very high real estate tax, it just didn’t make sense anymore,” said Osman.

A note to customers that the management posted on the eatery’s door said, “We regret to inform you that we are permanently closed. The landlord did not renew our lease.”

The note continued, “We wish to thank every single one of you for your business.”
