Jacques Pépin, an artist in the kitchen who has parlayed his extraordinary cooking skills to become world famous, is also an artist with a paintbrush. We know his culinary skills from his 12 PBS cooking series; the more than 30 cookbooks he’s written, including one with legendary chef Julia Child; his 16 James Beard awards; and being presented with France’s highest distinction, the Legion of Honor.
For those who are interested in Pépin's paintings, as well as his recipes, a good place to start is his latest cookbook, “The Art of Jacques Pépin: Favorite Recipes and Paintings from My Life in the Kitchen” (Harvest Books).
Released as his 90th birthday approaches — he was born on Dec. 18, 1935 — the book is filled with sketches, drawings and paintings center
