OROVILLE — The Second Annual Historic Preservation Recipients Open House Tours in Oroville welcomed visitors to learn about local history in some of the oldest buildings in the town on Saturday.
The tours feature four buildings, each of which received a Historic Preservation Award. The award was established in 2024, and Oroville Planning Commissioner Natalie Sheard said it was created to honor both the buildings of the city’s past, as well as the people who have kept them in good condition.
Sheard, who also works on the Historic Advisory Committee, added that Oroville has a large number of preserved buildings, and said it’s important that people know about the history of the city.
