Disney Plus has unveiled the trailer and first look for a new crime drama, described as "dark, visually striking and suspenseful".

The series, titled To Cook a Bear, will be available exclusively on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, and Hulu in the US from 15 October.

Comprising six episodes, the series is based on the bestselling book by Mikael Niemis and stars Gustaf Skarsgård, known for his roles in Vikings and Oppenheimer.

Set in northern Sweden in 1852, Skarsgård portrays a pastor who moves with his family to the secluded village of Kengis.

The synopsis reveals: "With a strong belief in justice and change, he challenges the local elite but faces resistance as his fiery sermons ignite hope for a better life among the poor farmers." View 2 Images
