Ten Madhya Pradesh police personnel, including an officer of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) rank, have been suspended for allegedly looting money to the tune of Rs 1.45 crore claimed to have been seized from a hawala operative.
The police team had seized a vehicle on the night of October 8 on the Sheeladehi bypass road near Seoni town in Seoni district, bordering Maharashtra, and allegedly made good with the huge sum stashed in it.
Seoni superintendent of police Sunil Malik told INDIA TODAY that the police team, led by chief superintendent of police (CSP) Seoni Puja Pandey, had received a tip-off that a huge sum of cash was being transported by road to Maharashtra.
