Brooklyn volunteers and community groups came together in Prospect Park on Oct. 4 to plant hundreds of native trees and plants as part of City of Forest Day, a citywide effort to raise awareness and celebrate New York City’s urban forest.

About 60 volunteers gathered to plant nearly 400 native trees and shrubs to enhance the park's tree canopy. The planting took place at Fallkill Trail, one of the five scenic nature trails in Prospect Park Alliance ’s newly launched formalized trail system.
