Jayden Maiava threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns and walk-on redshirt freshman King Miller ran for 158 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries as shorthanded USC rebounded from its first loss of the season to defeat Michigan, 31-13, Saturday.

“Awesome win,” coach Lincoln Riley said. “Tough response by our football team. I thought we attacked and dominated the football game on all sides. It was just a really awesome, gritty tough performance.”

The Trojans ran for 224 yards on 36 carries against a Wolverines defense that entered the game seventh among Football Bowl Subdivision teams in rushing defense, allowing opponents 77 yards per game.
