Dallas Cowboys guard Tyler Smith is going to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, per ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Smith, who signed a long-term extension with the Cowboys a few weeks back, missed last Sunday’s game on the road against the New York Jets. Technically speaking he suited up, but he has been dealing with an ankle issue and was only dressed for emergency purposes as the Cowboys have been down a number of offensive linemen to date. Thankfully, he did not have to enter the game and that likely helped him recover.

Smith is one of the best interior linemen in the NFL, a big reason why Dallas paid him as noted. For him to be back in action is a huge boost for the Cowboys offense given that they are dealing with plenty of offensive linemen out as we all know.
