DETROIT, MI – A driver was arrested following a traffic stop in Detroit after Michigan State Police located drugs and a gun inside the vehicle.

The suspect, who was not identified by age or gender, is being held at the Detroit Detention Center.

Troopers performed a traffic stop on Saturday, Oct. 11, after the driver disregarded a stop sign. Police later learned that the driver’s license was suspended.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found a Glock 40 caliber handgun in a void behind the radio. Police also located more than 50 grams of ecstasy and 19 oxycodone pills in a void in the window switch area.

That discovery then led police to conduct a search warrant at the suspect’s home. There, troopers seized an additional 28 grams of ecstasy, eight grams of methamphetamine, and two fire
