KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney Public Schools provided an update Sunday about a cybersecurity attack that occurred on Friday.

According to KPS, the district’s technology network was compromised by a cybersecurity attack. The KPS technology team, in coordination with external experts, has been working to identify the source of the attack and restore the systems.

KPS said the recovery process is still ongoing and will not be completed before the start of school on Monday. As a result, school phones, computers, and other network-dependent systems will be unavailable.

KPS said school will still be in session, however phones and email will not be operational.
