There’s been a lot of headlines surrounding Bill Belichick and his brief time at UNC , and he thinks he knows where the negative ones are coming from.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini , UNC and Belichick believe some of the negative reports originated in New England.

Belichick and the Patriots parted ways after a disastrous 2024 season that ended with a 4-13 record. Since then, Belichick has held a grudge against the organization.

He banned Patriots scouts from attending UNC practices because, in the words of Belichick, it’s clear he’s not welcome at New England’s facilities .

It was also reported that Belichick directed the school to not post anything Patriots-related to their social media accounts. Drake Maye, of course, played for UNC.
