STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Without a doubt, the late Art Hall was one of the borough’s finest distance runners, as evidenced by his two 2 hour, 22-minute Boston Marathon, along with his top five finishes in the early NYC Marathon period of the 1970s.

But the New York Road Runners Club AND Staten Island Sports Hall of Famer always tried to give back to the sport he loved, whether it was setting up the North Shore Track Club for runners of all abilities or starting an urban kids running program when he was on the board of directors of the NYRR.
