Dancing With the Stars pro Alan Bersten is so superstitious that he needs to wear one very specific piece of clothing for each live performance.

“I wear the same underwear every show,” Bersten, 31, said during the Saturday, October 11, episode of Joe Vulpis’ eponymous podcast. “Obviously, they wash it, but [it’s the] same exact pair. It might be a few seasons of the exact same pair.”

Bersten went on to note that the briefs he currently wears on show days are not the same ones that he sported when he won his first mirrorball trophy. (Bersten and celebrity partner Hannah Brown came victorious during 2019’s season 28.)

“‘Cause those would be old,” he joked on Saturday’s episode. “I am a creature of habit, but I’m very superstitious.”
