BOZEMAN — A rainbow bracketed the Bridger Mountains and the sun made a short visit to Bobcat Stadium as the Montana State football team put the finishing touches on another dominant performance.
The No. 5-ranked Bobcats (5-2, 3-0 Big Sky) shined in many areas during their 48-14 win over Idaho State (2-5, 1-2) on a rainy Saturday afternoon. They ran all over a tough run defense. They held the Bengals, who averaged more than 38 points per game before Saturday, to less than 22 points for the first time this season.
After opening Big Sky Conference play with wins of 57-3 over Eastern Washington and 34-10 at then-No. 13 Northern Arizona, Saturday’s performance provided further proof of the Cats’ sky-high potential as they head into their bye week.
