STATE COLLEGE – Grading the Penn State football team on its 22-21 loss to Northwestern Saturday at Beaver Stadium:

Quarterbacks

D: Drew Allar’s biggest mistake came on the first series when his pass to Liam Clifford in the end zone was intercepted.

Running backs

C: Kaytron Allen received most of the carries and ran 16 times for 90 yards and a TD. Nick Singleton had just seven attempts for 20 yards and a score.

Receivers

D: Other than Devonte Ross’ seven catches for 115 yards, the wide receivers and tight ends combined for three catches for 15 yards.

Offensive linemen

D: Penn State had two sustained drives on seven possessions and finished with a subpar 274 total yards.
