LAYTON, Utah (ABC4) -- A man was arrested in possession of nearly 60 pounds of methamphetamine in drug deal setup arranged by law enforcement, according to the Davis County Task Force.
Arnulfo Ruiz Mendez, 42, was arrested in Davis County on one charge of distribution of a controlled substance (second-degree felony).
On Oct. 11, a confidential source in contact with a drug supplier arranged a delivery of a substantial amount of methamphetamine. The supplier had reportedly offered the source meth in the past.
The source informed police that the drug courier, from out of state, was on his way to Utah and had arrived in Layton. The source arranged with the courier to meet at a hotel in Layton and confirmed the details surrounding the deal.
