SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- St. Paul's Senior Services is hosting its annual donation drive to help support local seniors in need.

Thousands of San Diego County seniors are living below the actual cost of living and struggle to pay for everyday needs. That's why St. Paul's started their S.P.E.N.D. Program, which stands for St. Paul's Essential Needs Program.

They are now looking for new, unopened essential items to be donated -- items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, blankets, socks and more.

Donations can be dropped off Oct. 13-17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Paul's Senior Services Corporate Office, located at 328 Maple St. in San Diego.

Donations can also be made online at stpaulseniors.org/donate/.
