Heading into Week 6 of NFL action, former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn was still searching for his first win as head coach of the New York Jets.
And for a stretch during the Jets’ matchup Sunday against the Denver Broncos, it looked like Glenn might finally get it -- and do so against his former boss, Sean Payton, whom he coached under during their time with the New Orleans Saints.
The Jets took an 11-10 lead following a safety with 4:56 left in the third quarter and held it until Broncos kicker Wil Lutz connected on a 27-yard field goal with 5:06 remaining, giving Denver a 13-11 lead -- one it would not relinquish.
