On this week's Close Up , we continue to follow the story of former DMPS superintendent Ian Roberts, and Chief Political Reporter Amanda Rooker sits down with interim superintendent Matt Smith.

Des Moines Public Schools held its first regular school board meeting since Roberts' arrest Sept. 26. Federal authorities say Roberts is not in the country legally and did not have work authorization.

While some people at the board meeting brought up Roberts, others urged the board to move forward and reminded everyone to put the district's students first.
