Fans of Stephen King adaptations are preparing for the It prequel series, It: Welcome to Derry, which is set to be released on October 26. The HBO Max production will expand the story previously told in the 2017 and 2019 movie adaptations directed and produced by Andy and Barbara Muschietti, respectively. Nevertheless, instead of a sequel, the series will be telling an origin story set in 1962, a time period briefly referenced in the novel published in 1986. Naturally, the series will feel closer to the book, not only in terms of the aesthetic, but also the narrative itself.
