Billy Idol croons, “It’s a nice day for a white wedding!“ as the Detwilers have filled their year with white weddings. Between brides from church, our 4-H club, neighbors, and Paul being a well-liked boss, the invitations have been pouring into our mailbox like the mighty Mississippi overflowing its banks. Last spring, we had six weddings in eight weeks, two sets on the same day, and a few more this fall. We have been in barns, church halls, and nature-focused venues. The florals have just been over the top. Since this is a food column, let us talk about the food! From buffets to plated meals, to cookie bars, to traditional wedding cakes.
