The Waverly-Shell Rock football team picked up a decisive Homecoming victory against Cedar Rapids Washington on Friday, October 10. The Go-Hawks used a 38-7 first half to quickly run away with the victory to continue their chase for the postseason.
The Go-Hawks stood out in all three phases in the game. On offense, Mekyver Hagarty collected 81 of the team’s 223 rushing yards and two of the team’s four rushing touchdowns on 13 carries. Outside of Hagarty though, the Go-Hawks picked up plenty of production from a multitude of sources.
Drake Forcier ran for 54 yards on his one rushing attempt, and Kael Dewey ran for a 38-yard rushing touchdown in his lone carry of the game. Tate Lalk also added 33 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
