The Janesville football team had its three-game winning streak snapped in a Homecoming loss to Riceville on Oct. 10. According to Head Coach Dale Eastman, a combination of missed tackles, turnovers, and penalties were too much to overcome as the Wildcats fell 48-40.

The game seemed destined to be a shootout from the very beginning. Both teams secured a pair of first quarter touchdowns to head into the second half tied at 14. In the second quarter, however, Riceville would take advantage of a multitude of Janesville missed tackles to turn in a huge first-half rushing performance.

Riceville running back Reagan Richardson, in particular, finished the first half with 13 carries for 173 rushing yards. Janesville also finished a drive in which they marched into the red zone finish with a turno
