The Gaston County Board of Education may settle a lawsuit involving a student who injured his teeth on school property, according to court documents.

The student, a 12-year-old boy, injured his teeth at John Chavis Middle School on Feb. 14, 2025, according to the lawsuit.

The parties involved have agreed to a settlement of $46,550.

The lawsuit asked that a judge approve the proposed settlement.
