County auditors are already working toward this year’s Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4. On local ballots this year are candidates for city councils and school boards.

Bremer County Auditor Shelley Wolf explained registration and absentee/early voting procedures as indicated below.

Voter registration

Eligible voters who have not registered may do so at the county Auditor’s Office through Monday, Oct. 20.

Registration after Oct. 20 must take place at the polls on Election Day or at the Auditor’s Office when requesting an absentee ballot in person (no later than Nov. 3). Unlike earlier registration, both options require proof of identification and proof of residency on the spot.
