LAWRENCE — Kansas basketball might not be viewed as highly nationally as it has been in recent years, ahead of its season opener, but optimism remains high around the program ahead of the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Jayhawks have freshman guard Darryn Peterson leading the way, a potential No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. There’s sophomore forward Flory Bidunga back as well, someone who can help form a one-two punch with Peterson. Don’t forget, either, that there’s a mix of returners and newcomers who will help fill out a rotation that will help KU compete in the Big 12 Conference.
