On Oct. 6, Mayor Jerry P. Weiers and members of the Glendale City Council visited the Glendale Family Advocacy Center to deliver a proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the city.
“Domestic violence is a nationwide issue, and Glendale is doing our part to be part of the solution," Mayor Weiers stated. “The statistics are heartbreaking — one in six homicide victims and nearly half of all female homicide victims are killed by a current or former partner. That must end. I have faith in our public safety personnel and community partners to keep working toward reducing these numbers and saving lives.”
