UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The Utica Comets announced on Wednesday that former Clinton Comets stalwart Jack Kane has passed away.
"Jack was a legend who exemplifies what Comets culture means to us," the team said on their Facebook announcement on Wednesday, October 15.
The Peterboro, Ontario native spent 12 seasons with the Clinton Comets of the Eastern Hockey league and was named the team's first captain in 1960. With Kane on the team, the Comets brought back four Eastern Hockey League Championships to the Clinton Arena. His 333 goals, 639 assists and 972 points made him the Comets' all-time regular-season scoring leader.
Kane was also a part of the Clinton team that finished an astonishing 57-5-10 in 1967-68 -- 26 points more than the second-highest team that season. The Comets wou
