More than 60 volunteers participated in Gaston County United Way’s 2025 Day of Caring this October, completing 24 community service projects in the area.

Day of Caring is an annual event, taking place the first Wednesday of each October, designed to provide services to local non-profits that they would not be able to afford themselves.

This year’s projects included repairing a fence at the Daylite Center, painting picnic tables at the Gastonia Freedom School, completing improvements at the Flynn Home, refreshing flower beds at North Belmont Elementary, and delivering school supplies to seven local schools, according to a press release from Gaston County United Way.
