The City of Tavares — America’s Seaplane City has earned national recognition at the 2025 America in Bloom (AIB) Awards, receiving two prestigious honors that highlight the city’s innovation, community pride, and operational excellence. Tavares received the award for “Most Impressive New Project or Program” for its new Public Works Operations Complex. Led by Public Works Director James Dillon, the 44,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility officially opened on Oct. 4, 2024.
