YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A woman accused of kidnapping testified on her own behalf Thursday during her trial in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

After Stacie Gilmore, 51, finishes testifying, attorneys are expected to hold closing arguments in the case, which began Tuesday with jury selection before Visiting Judge Andrew Logan.

Gilmore faces charges of kidnapping, a first-degree felony, a third-degree felony count of child endangering, and two misdemeanor counts of child endangering and domestic violence.

She is accused of kidnapping a child who was 5 at the time. An indictment in the case is vague on specifics.

She is also accused of “torture or cruel abuse” of the child during the time she had him, according to the indictment. The case was first filed in 2023.
